• Leaders in Green Incubation

“Leaders in Green Incubation” was the title of an international expert workshop organized by the Borderstep Institute on 20 May 2014 at the Charlottenburg Innovation-Centre (CHIC).

Borderstep founders Dr. Severin Beucker and Prof. Dr. Klaus Fichter welcomed an international group who are expert in the area of entrepreneurship research and start-up support.

Participants included Helene Oscarsson, Vreta Kluster (Sweden), Fred Walti, Executive Director of the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (USA), Oriol Pascual, Enviu (Spain), Mika Finska, Cleantech Finland, Aaron Best, Climate-KIC (Berlin), and co-host Roland Sillmann, head of the Charlottenburg Innovation-Centre.

The workshop looked at similarities and differences in the participating incubators’ concepts of entrepreneurship and start-up. The subsequent discussion concentrated on opportunities in international collaboration: How can green start-ups as well as technical and financial support structures benefit from an international exchange of ideas?
