Borderstep hosts economic development promoters from Brazil at EUREF Campus

  • 2013, Berlin, Germany

Borderstep and cooperation partner Climate KIC welcomed a delegation representing the economic development organization SEBRAE from Brazil on the EUREF campus. The topic of discussion was the transformation toward a green economy in Germany and Brazil.

In Brazil, SEBRAE works to help small and medium-sized enterprises orient their work toward the guiding principle of sustainability. Against this background, the delegation acquainted itself with developments and support programs in Germany by speaking with businesses and research institutions in Munich and Berlin.

Ralf Weiß used results from the Green Economy Start-Up Monitor to quantify the start-up potentials of the green economy and explained the goals and activities of the StartUp4Climate initiative. Linda Bergset provided an overview of European funding institutions studied in the SHIFT project.

Before the guests spoke with entrepreneurs during a tour of the Berlin Climate KIC incubator, the Green Garage, Sarah Teller demonstrated how Climate KIC is succeeding in establishing a European innovation and entrepreneurship network for climate mitigation.
