FGF (Förderkreis Gründungs-Forschung): Sustainable Entrepreneurship working group

FGF Sustainable Entrepreneurship working group

Borderstep is a member of the Association for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship Research (Förderkreis Gründungs-Forschung = FGF), the leading scientific association for start-ups and entrepreneurship in German-speaking countries.

Not least thanks to the dedication of FGF, 120 “start-up professorships” have been established in Germany, as well as numerous other activities at German-speaking universities and colleges. FGF will continue to promote the establishment of research and teaching about business start-ups at German universities and colleges.

FGF can also point to further successes: entrepreneurial spirit has made its way into German universities and noticeably enhanced awareness of and openness to the topic of business start-ups. In addition, research on entrepreneurship has resulted in a number of important findings useful in economic policy and for entrepreneurship in practice.

Dr. Klaus Fichter of the Borderstep Institute and Dr. Stefan Schaltegger of Leuphana University of Lüneburg jointly initiated the working group Sustainable Entrepreneurship, whose goal is to organize high-quality exchange between scientists and to contribute to forming networks encompassing research and practice in the areas of “sustainable entrepreneurship,” “eco-entrepreneurship,” “green entrepreneurship”, and “environmental/sustainable innovations”.

Dr. Fichter serves as chair of the working group.
