Innovations in mobility

The main theme of the Hannover Messe 2019 is “Integrated Industry – Industrial Intelligence”. The world’s leading trade fair for the industry is thus dedicated to the topic of the digital transformation of the industry. Borderstep presents results from the field of innovation research as well as from start-up research.

Innovations in mobility

Dr. Jens Clausen, co-founder of the Borderstep Institute, was invited to speak at the BMWi stand on the topic of “Innovations in mobility – from development to the road”. Further speakers are:

  • Marco Weiß, Head of New Mobility & Innovations, Volkswagen Sachsen GmbH – DIE GLÄSERNE MANUFAKTUR (Volkswagen Future Mobility Incubator) and
  • Alexander Sohl, Founder, ME Energy – Liquid Electricity GmbH
  • Irena Bernstein, Network Manager CLEANTECH Initiative East Germany

Market opportunities and financing opportunities for start-ups

Alexander Schabel, Head of Sustainable Business Development, will also represent the Borderstep Institute at Hannover Messe 2019. During the session Green.Grow.Fly! Kapital für Umwelt Start-ups, he will present the Green Startup Monitor 2018, produced by the Borderstep Institute in cooperation with the Bundesverband Deutsche Startups e.V. (Federal Association of German Startups).

The Green Startup Monitor analyses the significance and challenges of those startups whose products and services contribute to the ecological goals of a Green Economy. The study is based on data collected through an online questionnaire from 1,158 innovative and growth-oriented companies that are less than 10 years old and have their headquarters in Germany.

The panel “Green.Grow. Fly! Kapital für Umwelt Start-ups” takes place within the Young Tech Enterprise Forum and is an event of KUER.NRW and KNUW.NRW in cooperation with Business Angels Network.

The session highlights market opportunities and financing possibilities for young innovative companies in the KUER future industries of climate, environment, energy efficiency and resource conservation from different perspectives. Following inputs and field reports from young founders, networks, investors, the presentation of the Green Start-up Monitor and an international outlook on Sweden, the panel will discuss trends, success factors and challenges for green start-ups.
