Zukunft Transatlantica

The Future of Transatlantic Innovation, Ecopreneurs and Sustainable Start-ups

  • 2018, Berlin, Germany

Dr. Linda Bergset, Senior Researcher at the Borderstep Institute and Head of the Green Start-Up Investment Alliance project, is an expert on the Zukunft Transatlantica.

The conference Zukunft Transatlantica brings together stakeholders from the USA and Europe who have innovative ideas, creativity and commitment, and who are getting involved and want to make a difference in green solutions in fields such as mobility, energy and food. Together, we would like to discuss which framework conditions favour green innovation, which best practices and lessons learned exist on both sides of the Atlantic, and the special role cities play in promoting innovation. We would like to find mutual inspiration, share visions and develop strategies. We provide start-ups and social entrepreneurs with the opportunity to introduce themselves, to network and to engage in discussions with political decision-makers and investors.

At the Transatlantic Hub – Green Innovation Promotion in North America and Germany/Europe, Linda Bergset together with Katharina Reuter, Managing Director, UnternehmensGrün e.V. and Stephanie Birkner, Professor of Female Entrepreneurship, University of Oldenburg will discuss the following questions:

  • What are the specific characteristics of start-up ecosystems in the USA and Germany and what are the reasons for their development?
  • Where can we learn from each other when it comes to promoting green innovation?
  • What structures do we need to promote green and social start-ups?

The right framework conditions for green innovation, the latest product ideas, current “best practices” and “lessons learned” on both sides of the Atlantic: these are the topics of the “Future Transatlantica”. The conference is aimed at entrepreneurs and those who want to become entrepreneurs. Special features of different financing models for green start-ups and the art of successful pitching will be discussed. Established entrepreneurs will answer the audience’s questions during a Q&A.
